Beauty Community Tip: Who Says Smokey Eyes are All About Black?

We all know about the sultry appeal of smokey eyes. No doubt about it, smokey eye makeup will get you noticed - your eyes just pop and are incredibly alluring. Who doesn’t want that?

In the past, most people have associated smokey eyes with black or charcoal gray eyeshadows. But so many makeup artists aren’t using just black anymore. I’ve seen some gorgeous eyes done with deep plums, chocolate browns, dark emerald greens, even pink and navy blues and they all still sport the same smoldering allure.

I really love the look, but I usually reserve it for evening or fancy occasions because it can be too strong for the daytime. So, if you’re looking to switch it up a bit and sport a chic and modern alternative to the smokey eye, I say, try it!

Here are a few fun smokey eye looks I’ve recently spotted on Pinterest:
- Pink smokey eyes
- Gray and purple smokey eyes
- Metallic silver smokey eyes

OK Magazine: 'RHOC' Star Gretchen Rossi Reveals Her Workout Tips & Explains the Jack in the Box Outi

With Valentine's Day coming up (TOMORROW!) and having just celebrating my 4 year anniversary with Slade this past weekend, OK Magazine invited me to chat about love and life - you can see that interview here. Maybe I was hungry, but while we were at it, we talked about food (Jack in the Box haha!), health and fitness! See a snippet of our chat below or read the full article here.

OK! How do you stay in such great shape?
Gretchen Rossi: It truly is about moderation. It took me literally 30 years to get that concept. I am very in tune with my body now and I know when I need to watch what I’m eating or when I can allow myself to indulge.  In the last five years I’ve been in the best shape of my life and I haven’t dieted and that’s the first time that I’ve ever been in good shape.  I’ve learned to just allow myself to just be.  I’ve learned that my body has these patterns now. When it’s right before my period I just feel really gross and bloated and I get so hungry. I eat anything and everything for the entire week and I’ve just allowed myself to not feel guilty about those things anymore because I know as soon as my period is over I’m going to feel great again.  So you have to get in tune with your body and learn to just be in those different stages of that month of whatever stages your body is going through. Being in shape and being healthy is mind, body and spirit.

OK! What's a standard breakfast, lunch and dinner for you?

GR: For breakfast I'll usually have yogurt and granola or turkey bacon or I’ll have hard-boiled eggs or I’ll have over easy eggs. I don’t do the egg whites because I feel like the yolk is really good for your body. I feel like when I eat the yolk it helps keep my hair shiny. For lunch, I typically just make a sandwich here at home with turkey and lettuce. If I feel crazy I will put other meats in there. I love mustard so I’ll add that and that’s a normal lunch for me if I’m home. If I’m out I’ll have a salad or salmon. The same thing goes for dinner. I rotate through my food, which sounds funny, but one night a week I’ll have fish. Another night I’ll have chicken, another night I’ll have meat and then every couple of weeks I’ll have more of a starchy dinner like pasta or I’ll eat pizza. I'll always try to have some sort of a vegetable with dinner. I love red and green squash with olive and salt and pepper.

OK! Do you ever eat fast food?
GR: It's so funny because I get all these tweets about when people see me on the show and they're like, 'You're always driving through Jack in the Box!' I laugh because most of the time we're driving through Jack in the Box it's because we're filming so much and we haven't eaten that day and it's like, 'We have to eat some food!' So we go through a drive through and it always happens to be Jack in the Box! It's not like I'm eating there every day. It's maybe once a month at the most.

OK! What would you like to say to your fans?
GR: I want to make sure people know they need to just give themselves a break. In time they will get to a great place. I think people get so skewed by Hollywood and they see all of us in these magazines and we're PhotoShopped or whatever and people think, 'Oh gosh if only I could look like that,' and the truth of the matter is I am the same as they are. I wake up every day and I struggle. I feel fat some days and it's just really having a healthy lifestyle and giving yourself a break.

OK Magazine Exclusive: 'RHOC' Star Gretchen Rossi Reveals How Her & Slade Smiley Keep Things Hot!

Slade and I just celebrated our 4 year anniversary and I couldn't be more in love! I am the happiest and luckiest girl ever! He is my very best friend, my companion and my future! With Valentine's Day around the corner (it's this week, GUYS!), OK! Magazine invited me to chat about relationships, marriage and children. Read a snippet of our interview below, or read the full article here.

OK! How are things with you and Slade?

Gretchen Rossi:
This is the happiest we’ve been in the four years since we’ve had a relationship. Things are really good. Our relationship continues to get better and better.  Everyday we find some more that we love about each other and it’s just a really blissful relationship.

OK! What’s the one thing Slade does that annoys you?

He chews cereal loud. I can not even deal when he eats it. It freaks me out. I have to leave the room.

OK! What do you do that bothers him?

He gets annoyed that I stress out about things. He wants me to let the little things go and I freak out. It could be the littlest thing and he gets frustrated with me because he says there’s nothing he can’t fix short of death.

! How do you and Slade keep things hot in the bedroom?

I think that with everything in life, you go through stages. Slade and I have never had issues with our sex life at all, but the seasons are what’s happening in your life. I think there are times we can’t get enough of each other and we just want to be together all day long and then where are other times life is hard. I think at the end of the day how we keep it alive is we allow each other to be in that moment. It’s not pressure for us and that’s what is so great. It’s not like Slade says he needs to have sex with me every single day or there’s not a quota I have to meet. I think that’s what keeps it fresh for us—there is no pressure. We just love each other. It’s just easy.

Press & Media: - Housewives At Family Equality Council Event

Last night, the Real Housewives put their drama aside for a good cause — and they looked amazing doing it. Tamra Barney and Gretchen Rossi of Orange County and Brandi Glanville, Kyle Richards, and Camille Grammer of Beverly Hills attended the Family Equality Council’s Awards Dinner in Los Angeles to show their support for the equal rights for parents and families across the globe.

So what is the
Family Equality Council? According to their website.

Family Equality Council connects, supports, and represents the one million parents who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender in this country and their two million children. We are changing attitudes and policies to ensure that all families are respected, loved, and celebrated—including families with parents who are LGBT. We are a community of parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren that reaches across this country. For 30 years we have raised our children and raised our voices toward fairness for all families.

While most of the ‘Wives hit the red carpet solo, Tamra brought along her soon-to-be hubby, Eddie Judge. As you might recall, the two became engaged during the last season of Real Housewives of Orange County and ever since, they’ve been hard at work planning their dream wedding which hopefully we’ll be seeing this season on the show.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is currently airing its third season on Bravo every Monday night at 8/7c. As for The Real Housewives of Orange County, it’s due to return for it’s eighth season at the end of next month.

Press & Media: Lalate: Gretchen Rossi Rolls Royce Coming to Orange County

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Gretchen Rossi Rolls Royce is soon coming to Southern California. Gretchen Rossi (Real Housewives of Orange County) is teaming up for the British automaker Rolls Royce to sell custom Rolls in Southern California. The line will be called “2013 Rolls-Royce Ghost Gretchen Christine Edition”, Rossi tells

Over the years, fans have watched the growth of Gretchen Rossi’s lifestyle brand, “Gretchen Christine Collection”. A recent Rossi ad campaign for handbags and luggage featured the Bravo reality star stepping out of a vintage Rolls. In one shot shown seen above, Rossi is holding her signature pink purse in the beat seat of the famed car.

But now there will be a Rossi Rolls. Gretchen says she will travel to England to design the model. The line will be offered in a Newport Beach, California seller. Rossi is the first Housewife to get her own fleet of cars. Bravo has yet to indicate if they will follow Rossi during her efforts this spring.

In 2011, LALATE reported that Victoria Beckham teamed up with Range Rover for a specially designed SUV. Dubbed “The Range Rover Evoque Special Edition”, the Beckham fleet brought “together high fashion and design innovation thanks to the collaboration of the Land Rover Design team and Victoria Beckham.”

I didn't know that about Victoria Beckham! She's an amazing fashion icon and business woman! I'm happy to follow her footsteps anyday! Read more at
